For year-round activities and festivals, Dansville is second to none.

The Dansville area offers a variety of activities, attractions, and festivals year-round.  Community outlets for the sporting enthusiasts include a nine-hole golf course, bowling alley, and numerous ball fields and playgrounds for baseball, soccer, football, track, tennis, and basketball.

Just five minutes south of the Village is Stony Brook State Park with 130 trailer and tent sites.  Letchworth State Park—the “Grand Canyon of the East”—with its breathtaking waterfalls, can be found 15 minutes to the west.  The state parks offer plenty of hiking trails and opportunities for biking and horseback riding. Dansville also has three other major campgrounds in the immediate area.

Fishing, boating and hunting, and snowmobiling are in ample supply in the surrounding hillsides and nearby lakes and streams.  Flying, soaring, and ballooning are very popular in our valley.  Swain and Bristol ski & snowboard centers are both within 30 minutes of Dansville offering ample winter recreational activities.

Between the Dogwood Festival in the spring and Winter in the Village, Dansville hosts nine other festivals, the largest of which occurs during the Labor Day weekend where community residents and visitors are treated to over 50 hot air balloons filling the skies as we celebrate playing host to the New York State Festival of Balloons.
